Al Cleinman

Founder & President, Cleinman Performance Partners

An entrepreneur and leader in the eye care community for more than 40 years, Al is best known as a strategist, innovator, and problem solver. He describes his passion in life as business: “I love business! Businesses where people are engaged with one another and where they ful­fill the hopes and dreams of stakeholders. I love ideas and putting ideas to work. I am especially passionate about helping others see and realize their own vision.

Having structured and negotiated more than 1,000 facilitated transactions in his career, Al is the industry’s most sought-after consultant for new business development, planning, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, and real estate deals. Carol Dibble Record

OD, Retired

Dr. Carol Record was the co-founder and CEO of Drs. Record & Record Optometrists, P.C., a four-doctor, two-location practice with over 20 employees. She sold her practice in 2016 and officially retired from clinical practice in December 2017.

Dr. Record is a past president of the Virginia Optometric Association and a past trustee of the American Optometric Association. She has held many volunteer positions in optometry on the state and federal levels.  She is currently a legislative keyperson, a trustee on the Optometry Cares Board (the AOA Foundation) and a member of the Essilor Advisory Board. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.

Craig S Steinberg, O.D., J.D.

Dr. Steinburg brings a unique perspective and expertise to the field of Optometric Law. He is known across the United States as one of the few experts in optometric law, has lectured extensively across the United States on a variety of topics of interest to optometrists, including practice transactions, contracting, and HIPAA compliance, and has represented hundreds of optometrists in matters ranging from State Board discipline, opposing VSP audits, business buy-sell agreements and partnerships, business and employee litigation involving optometrists, and optometric consulting.

Megan McCarthy

Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity College, Megan excels in aligning an organization’s quality, financial, and service goals with information technology initiatives. She specializes in healthcare information technology systems evaluation, selection, and implementation as well as contract, data, and workflow analysis.

Before joining Cleinman Performance Partners, Megan worked as a healthcare consultant for WeiserMazars of New York City and for an independent private optometrist in Fayetteville, NY.
